Scrap Cable Collection for Electricians in Birmingham

Keep a free 240-litre bin at your unit or at home, drop your offcuts and strip-out cable in after each job, and we collect, weigh and pay the same day. No more runs to the yard with half a van of cable.

What goes in the bin

  • Household cable: twin and earth, flex and meter tails
  • High grade cable: singles and heavy single-core
  • Low grade and armoured cable: SWA
  • Data cable
  • Bright wire: clean, stripped copper
  • Also: brass, electric motors and transformers

Should I strip it?

Stripped bright wire pays the most per kilo, but stripping takes your time. We buy cable either way and pay by grade. Both prices are below, so you can do the sum for your own load.

Never burn cable to get at the copper. It is illegal, and burnt copper is downgraded.

Keep the grades apart

One bag for household, one for singles, one for armoured. Sorted cable earns more.

Paperwork for your jobs

Every collection comes with a waste transfer note. Keep it for your own records or pass it to a commercial client who asks where the waste went.

Questions electricians ask

Can you collect straight from site after a strip-out?

Yes. Give us the site address when you book. For big strip-outs we can bring extra bins or a larger container, or collect loose loads.

Do I need to be there?

No. Tell us where the bin is kept. We send photos of the scales before we leave and pay you the same day.
